Today, drone videography is seen in most every movie, TV show and commercial. From National Park advertising to local car lot TV spots, drones allow wide, overhead shots in HD, capturing your message and establishing your brand.

Drones used on a commercial set are different than the hobby drones you find at local department stores. The drones must be strong enough to resist wind, have long-life batteries and a clear HD camera-with some even shooting up to 8K! These drones can be fairly expensive, so you can't trust just anyone to operate them. True drone operators need training and a licesne to fly drones in a public space and must follow local and federal regulations.

According to Flying Magazine (2024), those operating a drone without a license "could face civil penalties of up to $27,500 and criminal penalties with fines of up to $250,000 and/or three years in prison for unregistered drones. Flying (drones) without a license also has hefty fines with civil penalties of up to $32,666 and higher criminal penalties including jail time." Local laws may also add on to these penalties, so be sure your operator is licensed.

I'AMedia's drone operators are certified FAA pilots (sUAS rating) - the requirement to
legally fly for any commercial videography or photography production in the US. Our pilots are available for local hire in Ohio (Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati) and world travel. We also offer "Remote-PIC", allowing other pilots to be closely supervised on set, which alone can carry significant responsibility according to Rupprecht Law in Palm Beach, FL (2024).
